At least once in their lives, all children should hold a book in their hands that talks about their lives and their homes. All too often, however, children from indigenous, immigrant, and other small communities do not have this opportunity. They go to school and read books about other people in other places living other lives.
Education Projects International book-writing workshops help students, teachers, and community members write their stories, integrate them into the school curriculum, and use them to produce books. Often this will be the only book about that community or local culture.
